Mold & Flood Interior Restoration.

When water gets inside a vehicle, the damage doesn't stay on the surface. It soaks into carpet padding, seat foam and sound insulation, and mold follows. We clean and treat the damage, and when needed, we take the interior apart to reach what's underneath, dry it out properly, and put it back together.

Mold can begin growing on wet materials within a day or two. The sooner we inspect, the more we can save.
Under the carpet
Most of the water and growth hides in the padding and floor pan, where a regular detail never reaches.

Warning signs

Does your vehicle need this?

A standard interior detail cleans what you can see. If any of these sound familiar, the problem is likely deeper, and that's what this service is built for.

01

Musty smell that keeps coming back

Air fresheners cover it for a day, then it returns, usually worse on hot, humid Miami afternoons.

02

Visible spots or fuzz

White, green, gray or black growth on seats, the steering wheel, seat belts, door panels or the headliner.

03

Wet or damp carpet

Carpet that feels damp, squishes underfoot, or never fully dries, often from a leak, clogged drain or bad seal.

04

Street flooding or storm water

The vehicle sat in standing water during a storm, hurricane or king tide and water reached the cabin.

05

Windows left open or a long time parked

Rain got in, or the car sat closed up for weeks in the heat, the perfect conditions for mold.

06

Foggy glass and heavy humidity

Windows that fog up constantly are often a sign of trapped moisture inside the cabin.

Leather, suede and trim were covered in growth after the car sat. Every surface was treated and the cabin was brought back to a clean, usable condition.

Results vary based on how long the vehicle was wet, the materials involved and how far the growth has spread.

Why disassembly matters

We go down to the metal.

Wiping the surface isn't enough when water has soaked through. On this Nissan we removed the seats, console and carpet to reach the floor pan, where the real damage was.

Our process

How we restore an interior.

A structured, step-by-step process. Not a quick shampoo and a fragrance spray.

01

Inspection & photos

We assess where the water reached, how far growth has spread and what needs to come out, and photograph the vehicle before work begins.

02

Written quote & approval

You get a clear scope and price. Work starts only after you approve it, including the disassembly terms below.

03

Interior disassembly

Seats, center console, trim panels and carpet are removed as needed to expose the padding and floor pan.

04

Removal & extraction

Debris and loose growth are removed. Carpet and fabric are hot-water extracted to pull out contamination and standing moisture.

05

Treatment & steam

Affected surfaces are treated with professional mold-cleaning products and steam cleaned, including seat frames, rails and the floor pan.

06

Drying

The carpet, padding and cabin are dried 100% with air movers before anything goes back in. Reinstalling damp materials is how mold comes back, so we don't rush this.

07

Odor treatment

Ozone treatment helps neutralize lingering musty odors throughout the cabin and ventilation areas.

08

Reassembly & final detail

Components are reinstalled, the interior gets a final detail, and we walk you through the results with after photos.

Interior disassembly disclaimer

Mold and flood restoration often requires removing seats, carpet, center consoles, trim panels and other interior components. These parts are held in place by plastic clips, retainers, screws, bolts and electrical connectors that are often already brittle, corroded, rusted or weakened by water, mold, heat and age. We use proper trim tools and take care with every vehicle, but some breakage during removal and reinstallation can't always be avoided.

By authorizing this service, the customer agrees that Xtreme Pro Detailers LLC is not responsible for:

  • Broken, stripped or damaged clips, retainers, fasteners, screws or bolts
  • Broken or damaged wires, wiring harnesses, connectors, plugs or sensors
  • Cracked or broken trim pieces, panels or brackets
  • Pre-existing or water-related electrical problems, warning lights, airbag/SRS lights or module faults, before or after service
  • Mold staining or discoloration that has permanently set into materials
  • Mold returning if the source of water (leaks, drains, seals, open windows) is not repaired

This service restores your original carpet: it is cleaned, disinfected, dried 100% and reinstalled, not replaced. If the carpet is too damaged to save, replacement is an additional charge based on the cost of the carpet. The same applies to the headliner: we clean it, and if it needs to be replaced, we'll let you know the cost before any replacement work is done.

Any replacement parts needed are the vehicle owner's responsibility and are not included in the service price. Written approval of these terms is required before any disassembly begins.

Questions

Mold & flood FAQ.

Can't a regular interior detail fix mold?

Light surface spots can sometimes be handled with a deep interior detail. But when water has soaked into the carpet padding, seat foam or insulation, cleaning the surface won't reach the source and the smell and growth come back. That's when full disassembly is needed.

How much does mold and flood restoration cost?

Restoration starts at $1,000 when the interior can be treated without disassembly, and at $2,000 when seats, console, trim and carpet have to come out. The final price depends on the vehicle, the materials affected and the extent of the damage, and is confirmed after we inspect it. Texting us photos is the fastest way to get an idea of the scope.

How long does it take?

It depends on the vehicle and how wet it is. Disassembly, treatment and especially drying can't be rushed, so larger jobs may take more than one day. We'll give you an expected timeline with your quote.

Do you work on flooded cars?

Yes, we restore vehicle interiors after water intrusion, including street flooding and storm water. We clean, treat and dry the interior. We do not repair mechanical or electrical systems, so a flood vehicle should also be checked by a qualified mechanic.

Will the mold come back?

Our goal is to remove the contamination and dry the vehicle completely. Mold can return if the water source isn't fixed, such as a leaking seal, a clogged drain or windows left open, so we recommend having any leak repaired.

Do you replace the carpet or headliner?

No. With disassembly, we remove your original carpet, clean and disinfect it, dry it 100%, and reinstall it. If the carpet is too damaged to save and needs to be replaced, that's an additional charge depending on the cost of the carpet. The same goes for the headliner: we clean it, and if it needs to be replaced, we'll let you know how much it will cost before doing any replacement.

Are you responsible if a clip or wire breaks during disassembly?

No. Clips, fasteners, screws and wiring in water-damaged vehicles are often already brittle or corroded. Please read the disassembly disclaimer above. Replacement parts are the owner's responsibility.

Do you do this for boats, RVs or homes?

This service is for car, truck and SUV interiors only. We don't provide mold remediation for homes or buildings.

What areas do you serve?

We serve Miami-Dade and Broward County, including Miami, Miami Beach, Doral, Kendall, Coral Gables, Miami Lakes, Aventura, Miramar, Pembroke Pines, Hollywood, Weston, Fort Lauderdale and Coral Springs.

Only need a regular cleaning? See our interior detailing or all detailing services.
